QUOTES FROM THE ARTIST

“The meaning of my works is only given through the quality of their manufacture and the accuracy of their installation.”

“Half of the best works are neither painting nor sculpture, but pure volumes.”

“A shape, volume, colour or surface is an entity in itself. It must not be hidden within a different whole. Shapes and materials should not be altered by context.”

IN THE EYES OF YVON LAMBERT

“Although I have never had any solo exhibitions of Donald Judd’s work, his works have been shown in my gallery and I have a very beautiful collection of drawings and sculptures. A few months before his death, I met him in New York, a few steps away from his studio on Spring Street. We chatted for several hours in a café in Soho. “Why didn’t you ever exhibit me? “he asked me with a smile. We laughed together, and I didn’t know what else to say except, “It never happened.”
