SPEAKERS: ISABELLE and JEAN-CONRAD LEMAÎTRE (video art collectors)

Isabelle and Jean-Conrad Lemaître started their collector activity by buying engravings then paintings, sculptures and then later, in the 90s, photographs. Many of these same photographers have started making videos; they thus followed the artists who began to make more and more videos (their first video purchase in 96).

Their collection was built up according to their passions and the themes they could share with the artists. This pioneering collection in France represents a true mirror of the geopolitical issues of the contemporary world, of joys, sorrows, human suffering, of the relationships that we can maintain through this medium with the space and the time that we share.
