QUOTES FROM THE ARTIST (EXTRACTS OF CITYSCAPE OSLO’S INTERVIEW – 2001)

“It started out as therapeutic self-portraits in the style of Francesca Woodman. Then, in art school, I became interested in role- playing as a means of practicing feminist criticism. In recent years, I’ve been less interested in social and political power structures, and focused instead on personal and psychological factors in self- engagement.”

“I always try to challenge myself on several levels within each project, and this time one of the challenges was to establish a working relationship parallel to the father-daughter relationship. So I personally found it very interesting, and of course it’s related to my interest in the relationship between biological heritage and social influence.”
