Même les soleils sont ivres

January 19 – May 25, 2025

Opening of the exhibition on January 18 at 4:30 p.m.

Drapeau blanc

Conceived as part of the Avignon Terre de culture 2025 / Curiosité(s) celebrations, the exhibition Même les soleils sont ivres borrows its title from a phrase by Albert Camus taken from La Postérité du soleil, a work produced in the Vaucluse region with Swiss photographer Henriette Grindat, and beautifully prefaced by her friend, the poet René Char.
The collection of contemporary and classical works on display in the rooms of the Hôtel de Montfaucon – installations, videos, photographs, sculptures and paintings – recounts, through a multitude of sensory experiences, the sensitive relationship between human beings and the land they inhabit, impregnated by the particularities of a climate irrevocably affected by the wind.
