From July 1st, the artist Eva Jospin invests the exhibition spaces of the Rendez-vous Sous-sol programme, initiated by the Collection Lambert in Avignon since 2019.

The artist’s presence occurs as part of the Carte blanche Ruinart, a project that the Avignon institution is hosting for the fourth year. She succeeds Vik Muniz, David Shrigley and Jeppe Hein.

While at the same time, the artist’s monumental works will occupy the prestigious rooms of the Palais des Papes and dialogue with the history of this emblematic location of the city, a series of works from the artist’s collaboration with Ruinart will occupy the rooms of the Avignon contemporary art centre.

The Collection Lambert’s spaces, whose architecture is reminiscent of the end scene of 2001: A Space Odyssey, will function as a contemporary mirror to the gothic setting of the Palais des Papes. The marvelous landscapes sculpted by the author from cardboard will fill the white and luminous rooms with their sensitive power, like rooms containing the memories of our past, present and future lives.
