Masterpieces from Angladon museum Collection Jacques Doucet

Collection Jacques Doucet — Van Gogh, Modigliani, Degas, Sisley…

December 11, 2016 – February 26, 2017

The works of Chardin, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Degas, Vuillard, Picasso, Modigliani, Man Ray and the great masters ofpainting usually exhibited in the Musée Angladon – Collection Jacques Doucet invest the contemporary spaces of the Collection Lambert. The first three rooms of the Hotel de Caumont aredevoted to these works, reconnecting with one of the traditionsof the Collection Lambert, mixing ancient and contemporary art (exhibitions ‘‘Patrice Chéreau’’ in 2015, ‘‘Le Paradoxe du comédien’’ in 2006, ‘‘Artists’ Collections’’ in 2001).

The friendly relations that Yvon Lambert has maintained formany years with Sabine Coron, honorary director of theBibliothèque littéraire Jacques Doucet and director of the Fondation Angladon-Dubrujeaud, have helped to bring the two institutions together. These links were naturally extended when the Musée Angladon – Collection Jacques Doucet, closed for renovation, is preparing the construction and opening of new exhibition spaces in March 2017.

This exceptional collaboration brings together two venues dedicated to artistic creation in Avignon, as well as the work of two great collectors who have become major figures for the art of their time.
