Since its opening in 2000, the Collection Lambert pays particular attention to the publication of exhibition catalogs. Enriched with texts by curators, art historians, philosophers, writers or interviews with artists, the works retrace the route of the exhibitions and constitute the memory of the museum. With more than thirty published titles, it is an important documentation resource on exhibitions, artists and the institution that is available.
The editorial line of the Collection Lambert was born from a close collaboration with the graphic artists Antoine + Manuel and Actes Sud, who became the historical co-publisher of the museum, but also with the Éditions de l’Amateur and Gallimard.
In 2019, the museum begins a new series of books, The Cahiers of the Collection Lambert, thought as true testimonies of the importance and the quality of the sets of works preserved in Avignon. Each issue, devoted to an artist, offers the opportunity for visitors and readers to further explore the collection through reproductions of works, some of which have never been published, and unpublished interviews with Yvon Lambert.
